Niveen works with individuals, couples, families and groups seeking support for depression, anxiety, burnout, trauma, emotional overwhelm, grief and loss, relationship challenges, cultural and identity-related experiences, nervous system dysregulation, workplace stress and major life transitions. Her therapeutic work combines contemporary counselling and psychotherapy approaches with mindfulness, somatic awareness and holistic wellbeing practices to support deeper emotional insight, behavioural change and reconnection with self.

Therapeutic approaches used may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), somatic and nervous system-informed approaches, guided mindfulness and reflective practices. Brief, long-term and crisis counselling interventions are available, alongside relationship and couples therapy.

Niveen is also trained in the application of Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) Therapy, an integrative treatment approach exploring the connection between stress, immune health, inflammation, trauma and chronic illness. Sessions may incorporate relaxation-based therapies such as diaphragmatic breathing, mindfulness and guided imagery to support chronic stress, mood disorders, pain, sleep difficulties and nervous system regulation.

Alongside her psychotherapy and counselling work, Niveen is trained in both Indian and Sri Lankan approaches to Ayurveda and classical Hatha yoga. She specialises in integrating mental health, yoga, meditation and Ayurvedic principles to create personalised and holistic wellbeing experiences that honour the connection between mind, body and lifestyle.

Niveen is also an NDIS-registered practitioner supporting participants through counselling, innovative community participation and holistic wellbeing programs. In addition, she works as an ACA Clinical Counselling Supervisor, supporting practitioners and students both individually and in groups.

As a Monash University Alumnus, Niveen has also participated in Monash Uni’s Student Mentoring Program, offering her knowledge and experience in mentoring a small number of final year students at the end of their courses and in planning for their careers. In particular she has worked with students with an interest in Counselling, Nutrition and Wellbeing.
