Immunity boosting tonic

Been quiet on social media as I work through clinic and teaching the last of a few private group classes before things slow down for a while. I’ve had lots of people coming through feeling anxious about catching the virus that seems to be taking over the world but also on the other hand forcing us all to slow down, go inward, support each other and all the lovely things that make the world a better place in trying times.

If you’re at home working / distancing and thinking about boosting your immunity, here’s a little tonic that is easy and quick to make. This has powerful but simple ingredients that are generally available in most kitchen pantries. Handy for when you go out to the shops and all the shelves are empty these days!

Mix root or powdered turmeric (1 tsp) and fresh ginger (1/2 tsp) with a sprinkle of black pepper, 1/4 lime and infuse in 3/4 cup of boiling water. After cooling slightly mix in a squeeze of local honey before consuming

Great to boost immunity, soothe and hydrate the throat and an excellent replacement for caffeine at this time. Have upto 2 cups a day and then alternate with warm / hot water if you need to keep sipping on something as you work :)

Chyvanaprasam is also a great immunity boosting jam if you have that available at home. I will share some info on this next.
