Niveen works with individuals, couples, families and groups seeking support for depression, anxiety, burnout, trauma, emotional overwhelm, grief and loss, relationship challenges, cultural and identity-related experiences, nervous system dysregulation, workplace stress and major life transitions. Her therapeutic work combines contemporary counselling and psychotherapy approaches with mindfulness, somatic awareness and holistic wellbeing practices to support deeper emotional insight, behavioural change and reconnection with self.

Therapeutic approaches used may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), somatic and nervous system-informed approaches, guided mindfulness and reflective practices. Brief, long-term and crisis counselling interventions are available, alongside relationship and couples therapy.

Niveen is also trained in the application of Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) Therapy, an integrative treatment approach exploring the connection between stress, immune health, inflammation, trauma and chronic illness. Sessions may incorporate relaxation-based therapies such as diaphragmatic breathing, mindfulness and guided imagery to support chronic stress, mood disorders, pain, sleep difficulties and nervous system regulation.

Alongside her psychotherapy and counselling work, Niveen is trained in both Indian and Sri Lankan approaches to Ayurveda and classical Hatha yoga. She specialises in integrating mental health, yoga, meditation and Ayurvedic principles to create personalised and holistic wellbeing experiences that honour the connection between mind, body and lifestyle.

Niveen is also an NDIS-registered practitioner supporting participants through counselling, innovative community participation and holistic wellbeing programs. In addition, she works as an ACA Clinical Counselling Supervisor, supporting practitioners and students both individually and in groups.

what is ayurveda?

Ayurveda is one of the world’s most powerful mind-body health systems, originating in India. It views every individual as unique based on inherited traits, lifestyle and circumstances. Ayurveda focuses on bringing balance to the body and mind in alignment with nature through the removal of toxins and waste that collect in the body and block the flow of nourishment to the tissues and channels. This is achieved with bespoke solutions covering diet, herbs, massage, yoga, meditation and everyday habits that are affordable and can be done at home.

how does it all work together?

Treatments can be undertaken with or without a prior assessment, but a brief discussion on health issues and goals is recommended. This is because the techniques, models and herbal recommendations used are matched to your current state of health and unique set of needs.

A full Ayurvedic consultation involves a 75 minute assessment addressing health history, ailments, diet, current lifestyle and daily routines. A step-by-step program is then designed including a meal plan, yoga & meditation schedule, lifestyle adjustments, as well as recommended herbal aides and body therapies. Importantly, we also provide guidance and recommendations on how to manage mental & emotional well-being in consideration of your doshic balance as well as current life setting.

If there are related mental / emotional challenges impinging on health, a set of counselling / talk therapy or reiki healing sessions can be organised as needed. Private yoga classes and guided meditation sessions are also available, again, as needed.

A 30 minute follow up consultation is recommended to implement the plan into your daily life.

Ongoing support with weekly email & phone check-ins are offered at no cost for the duration of your plan.

Testimonials

I have seen Niveen on and off over the years to address lifestyle and health concerns however it wasn’t until I started dong some counselling sessions with her when I really started to notice a shift. Rather than just addressing the health concerns as they arose we investigated the underlying behaviour which caused these to arise. It has been a pleasure and joy to work with her and I highly recommend her services for anyone seeking to make some positive and lasting changes in their lives and health.

Niveen was amazing helping me commence my Ayurvedic journey. Her initial consultation and subsequent targeted planning were thorough and flexible. Niveen was never pushy about anything and worked with me to achieve my goals - always checking in along the way, understanding any changes that came up and adapting my plan and amending little things as required. My experience has been life changing!

I cannot recommend Ananda Wellness enough!! I love that Ayurveda is a holistic practice that treats mind, body, and soul as one and recognises the inherent links between these aspects of our self - I was presenting with physical symptoms that could not be solved through our western medical system, and Niveen helped me to explore how my mental state and emotions have such a big impact on my physical health. The treatment plan was easy to follow and incredibly effective, the abhyanga massage was divine, and above all it was such a pleasure to connect with a practitioner who has such deep knowledge and broad understanding. Thank you Niveen, I feel better than I ever have and am excited for this journey to continue

I found Niveen to be a very warm and knowledgeable practitioner who was able to tailor a very effective treatment plan to meet my wellness goals. I felt AMAZING after my easy to follow Ayurvedic treatment plan and still use the tools daily. Niveen is very supportive and provides lots of information. The system of Ayurveda is very interesting and I loved learning more about the impact of food and the seasons on my health. I highly recommend a visit to Ananda Wellness.

Niveen has a lovely accommodating manner, her meal plans were delicious and easy to accommodate in busy family life. Her massages are heavenly, firm and invigorating especially the peppermint oil used for the head massage.

I have lost my 5 kg target and feel more energetic and open for synchronicity in my life alongside suggestions of daily meditation, yoga and personal training.

Niveen has been an inspiration and a pleasure to work with. She brings a world of information in an easy to understand manner. Her gentle, caring down to earth nature makes her approachable and I appreciated her follow through after consultations. Niveen took extensive notes on my history, asked many questions and came up with a very nice dietary, yogic and lifestyle plan. The eating plan is tasty and varied as well as quick and easy to prepare. It is obvious she has listened to my needs and concerns and suggested easy to follow routines and yoga practices to suit my particular Dosha. As a result I feel much more harmonious and balanced. Friends have commented on how well I look. Thank you Niveen :)
