8 week somatic workshop
A space to come back into your body, gently - A Program in Fairfield, Melbourne, Australia or ONLINE via zoom
Each week, we meet for one hour. Not to follow a rigid script—but to work with what is real, in that moment.
You’re invited to bring: what has been hard in your week, what feels stuck in your body, what you don’t yet have words for…. And from there, we begin. There is a structure to hold the space, but the content is not fixed. Each group is different. Each person brings something unique. We move at a pace that feels manageable. We adjust. We listen. We follow what matters.
What makes this workshop different
Within the NDIS space, there is a gap. Most programs focus on thinking, behaviour, or talking. Important—but often not enough. Because regulation doesn’t start in the mind. It starts in the body. Right now, there is very little space in NDIS-funded supports for: Somatic practices, nervous system regulation, trauma-informed, body-based work
This workshop is built around exactly that. It brings together: trauma-informed care (safety, choice, pacing), body-based techniques, mindfulness (MBSR / MBCT), positive behaviour support
We’re not just asking “what are you thinking?” But: “what is happening in your body—and what does it need?”
The power of the group
This is not just about learning skills. It’s also about not doing it alone. In the group, experiences are shared, not judged. People begin to recognise themselves in others, things feel less isolating, more human. Peer support is part of the work. Sometimes, hearing “me too” is where regulation begins.
How it works:
Each session follows a simple, steady rhythm—structured enough to feel safe, open enough to respond to what’s there:
Arrival Gentle grounding to settle the nervous system
Understanding clear, simple explanations of what happens in the body during stress, overwhelm, or shutdown
Practice Body-based exercises such as: grounding and orienting, breath and nervous system regulation, body awareness and mapping, working with overwhelm and rumination
Reflection & sharing
Space to speak, listen, or simply sit with your experience
Integration of small, realistic practices to take into everyday life
