what inspired this retreat?
After the success of our September 2025 retreat on the South Coast, we have received many requests to bring it back. The retreat experience was meaningful and transformative for all, and we’re excited to be able to deliver this in 2026 with more Sri Lankan hospitality and warmth to share. We’ve also decided to keep this retreat offering going each year with an annual event held in July and September each year.
If you’re thinking about joining and want to hear about our previous guest experiences, here are some of the amazing stories we’ve had shared with us!
A little bit about the south coast of sri lanka
The south coast of Sri Lanka is a sanctuary where nature, culture, and wellness converge in a tranquil embrace. Bathed in golden sunlight and kissed by the azure waves of the Indian Ocean, this region offers an idyllic escape for those seeking peace and rejuvenation.
The landscape is a painter’s dream—lush, tropical jungles spill into pristine beaches, with palm trees swaying in the warm breeze and the scent of saltwater and jasmine filling the air. In this serene paradise, the rhythm of daily life slows down, and the stresses of the world fade away. The sound of the ocean’s gentle waves crashing on the shore provides the perfect soundtrack to moments of introspection, yoga, and meditation. Quiet coves and secluded beaches like those in Hikkaduwa, Mirissa and Tangalle, invite relaxation, where you can bask in the sun, take a leisurely swim, or simply listen to the symphony of nature.
The region also boasts a rich cultural heritage, with quaint villages and temples nestled between the hills and coastlines. Here, the vibrant colors of local festivals contrast with the lush greenery, offering visitors a taste of Sri Lanka’s living traditions. In the evening, as the sun dips behind the horizon, the air cools and the stars begin to twinkle, creating a mystical ambiance perfect for reflection. The exclusive boutique accommodation within which this retreat is set is hidden in the heart of nature, offering unparalleled luxury with a local touch.
This location is designed to harmonise with the surroundings, with eco-friendly practices, ayurvedic spa experiences, and private villas where each detail is curated for the ultimate wellness journey. Whether enjoying a soothing massage with locally sourced coconut and herbal oils, taking a dip in your private plunge pool or indulging in yoga sessions overlooking the ocean, every moment here is about nourishing both body and soul.
We invite you to use any or all of your free time in between sessions as you wish to visit and explore the local fresh produce markets, brimming with tropical fruits, fragrant spices, and vibrant vegetables, providing a sensory feast. Colorful stalls burst with an array of organic delights—sweet pineapples, juicy mangos, and aromatic herbs—that can be enjoyed in a healthy, delicious meal prepared by local chefs or enjoyed as part of a farm-to-table experience at your accommodation.
The ocean is always nearby, a constant companion in your wellness journey. Whether you’re partaking in a peaceful morning oceanside meditation session or simply walking along the water’s edge, the rhythm of the ocean, along with the gentle sway of the palm trees, provides an unspoken connection to nature’s healing power.
Every element of the south coast of Sri Lanka weaves together seamlessly—a haven where wellness, nature, culture, and exclusivity meet, offering a transformative experience that stays with you long after you leave.

The cultural triangle is typically a dry, desert-like area and Kandy is a cooler, greener area known for its cool climes, tea plantations and biodiverse rainforest.
The city's heart is scenic Kandy Lake (Bogambara Lake), which is popular for strolling. Kandy is famed for sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) shrine, celebrated with the grand Esala Perahera annual procession
A pilgrimage destination for the Temple of the Tooth Relic — a sacred tooth of the Buddha and a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site — Kandy is regarded as a sacred city due to the importance and spiritual significance of this temple.
