TERMS OF SERVICE
We both agree:
• Are members of a relevant professional counselling organisation and abide by their ethical framework.
• Have indemnity insurance for the counselling work privately or insured through an agency.
Individual supervision is a safe place for you to share and reflect on all aspects of your clinical work. You are in control of what we discuss, and I am here to listen, offer guidance where it is wanted to both increase your knowledge and offer my reflections.
Group supervision is a place where we make space and time for all participants to share their client work and topics of concern and interest in-confidence, and to feel safe and supported in the sessions.
Zoom Supervision Session hours can be signed-off by Niveen towards the annual 10 hours’ annual requirement of supervision hours with ACA and PACFA.
Procedures:
We have agreed that the following arrangements will take place:
• If either the supervisee or the supervisor cannot attend a session, they will let the other know as soon as possible.
• Where there are disagreements, disputes, conflict areas between supervisor/supervisee, the supervisor will facilitate addressing any such concerns and is open to dialogue about all matters.
• Keeping of supervisory notes: Both supervisor and supervisee will write and keep notes securely.
• Emergencies: You are free to phone/ text Niveen in crisis situations on the following number:0421674093
Confidentiality:
• If issues are raised in supervision which concern the supervisor, such as unsafe or unethical practice by a supervisee or workplace, or issues indicating harm to self or others for a supervisee, or client, with a particular attention to the wellbeing of children, then explorations about removal of the confidentiality of our work will be discussed, and interventions explored, as required to ensure both safety and ethical practice is maintained.
Structure of Supervision:
• All supervision sessions will be conducted in an atmosphere of open communication and mutual respect. Should any dissonance or disagreements arise, my hope is that we can speak directly about these. Please be mindful that when in a group, as much as possible, the time is fairly shared with each member.
• Please come prepared to discuss cases, discuss your new ideas, readings and requests for extension of skills or guidance.
• Sometimes our interactions or hearing client stories can trigger some past wound. To fully understand the perspective of the client, I believe we need to be attuned to our own inner responses to various cases.
Please attend to your precious self and seek support as required. Some supervisees book sessions with me to specifically unpack challenging childhood experiences.
